I have known "Chuck" for a long time. I got to know him years ago when my work would enter the free pizza give aways at lunch. I remember telling him , if I were ever the winner just please send a hint so I wouldn't have to talk on the radio because of my country accent. Everyone had always picked on me and my younger sister because of our accents and he was sensitive about that too. That's one reason I'll never forget him. He'd send the hint and I'd always get someone else to act like me on the phone.I can also say years ago whenever I was expecting my daughter I would drive to Soperton Ga. to pick my young brother up from school ,I would see Chuck at the elementry school picking up kids too.I would always stop at the store to get my brother a snack and Chuck always stopped to get the kids he was picking up snacks too. That told me that he was very dedicated. The years went by quickly, our routines changed, but Chuck was always on the radio everyday.Since this school year ,I put my daughter out at SDM that's the time 98Q always tells the jokes of the morning.Somedays I absolutley could not get them and you could always hear Chuck laughing in the back ground. The only thing that went through my head is that he's laughing because he has to.ha.ha. Then the really funny ones I always laugh and repeat them throughout the day and I'd always notice his laugh was different. That shows the great job he did and he loved it.I was absolutely heartbroken whenever I heard Chuck passed away. I listened to the radio today and all I thought about was how different it was.Chuck is missed! Jesus has an awesome broadcaster now that's for sure. Chuck's family is in my prayers.
